These terms are written in plain English on purpose. Using Knowbell means you agree to them.
What Knowbell is
Knowbell is an informational tool for parents. It shows what standardized tests school districts run, lets you compare scores against published benchmarks, and offers practice activities for kids.
Knowbell is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any school district, state education agency, or test publisher. Test names that appear on the site — such as DIBELS, AIMSweb, MAP, CogAT, and others — are trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to identify which tests districts run. Our practice activities mimic test formats; they never contain actual test items and are not official practice materials for any test.
The honest disclaimer
Please read this one — it matters.
- Our district information comes from public documents — district pages, board policies, state rules. Every fact shows its source and when we last verified it.
- We do not guarantee it is accurate, complete, or current. Districts change their tests, thresholds, and policies, sometimes mid-year, and published documents can lag reality.
- Score comparisons are informational context, not predictions. They are not educational, psychological, or medical advice, and they cannot tell you whether your child will or won't qualify for anything.
- Before making decisions that matter — pursuing testing, choosing programs, anything with stakes — verify directly with your school district. They are the authority on their own rules; we are not.
Acceptable use
Use Knowbell for your own family. Don't misuse it — that means no attempting to access other families' data, no scraping or bulk copying of the site, no using it to build a competing dataset, no disrupting the service, and no illegal activity. We may suspend or close accounts that do these things.
Accounts
Accounts are optional and free. If you create one: give us accurate information, keep one account per family, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Accounts are for parents and legal guardians — children should not create accounts. You can delete your account at any time; our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you do.
No warranty
Knowbell is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be either — the site may have errors, gaps, or downtime. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Knowbell and the people behind it are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site — including decisions made based on information found here. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limits, so parts of this may not apply to you. In plain terms: this is a free informational tool, and it should be weighed accordingly. Your district's word is final; ours is context.
Governing law

Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and its effective date. For meaningful changes, we will notify account holders by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Knowbell after a change means you accept the updated terms.
